Hello everyone. I'm reapplying to USAFA this year as a Marion Military Institute service academy prep student. I received an email which stated I qualified for the early action program, but am a bit confused about the overall process. Do prep students have another ALO interview this year & have to redo the medical process? In that case, I wouldn't be able to get the app done by Nov 1 (early action deadline) because I won't be in my home state until the end of November. Also, as far as congressional nominations go, I know prep students have to reapply, but do they also have to request an interview on a certain date since they're usually out of state? Any advice on reapplying/prep school is much appreciated!

In the few instances I've worked with a candidate from one of the prep programs, the school had a process that they worked with the candidate to make all the deadlines, etc.

You will have to reapply for nomination, and if your MOC requires it, you'll have to go to the interview. In the case of my MOC, we knew the candidate was at a prep (NMMI each time) and we did a phone interview. As for the rest of the USAFA process, the short answer is: yes. NOW...they may waive the DODMERB because that may be good for two years. I say may because I'm not an expert on DODMERB and don't want to say anything definitive. As for the ALO interview, most of the schools have a faculty member that serves as the ALO or they have an ALO nearby that comes out.

Speak with the folks at Marion, I'm sure they have a "process" for this!

And good luck!!! :thumb:
