Reapplying to USAFA

Friday I received an e-mail notifying me that I had not been selected for an appointment to USAFA or the Prep School.

If I attend the Merchant Marine Academy next year (where I have been accepted), can I apply to USAFA again next year? Will my chances of being appointed increase?

I really want to be an officer in the USAF.

As you have seen in other threads, you may still be able to go into the Air Force after KP graduation. When I got into KP, I was also trying for the Air Force Academy. I had in interest in merchant shipping (what teenage boy doesn't?) so KP was a good alternative. I quickly changed my mind about an Air Force career during plebe year. You just might, too. . . . .
 
The Air Force and KP are not liking each other right now. I pushed really hard and all I got was doors shut in my face and the Academy was never there to support me including the Alumni Association and that was this academic year. If you want to go ACTIVE DUTY USAF flight out of here, don't bother.
