Hello everyone, first post on here, and I was wondering how strong my credentials are currently and what I can do to improve. I am currently on the tail-end of my high school year. I am currently in high school golf, aiming to stay in through senior year for 4 years total, although it is unlikely that I will make varsity. I am also a Boy Scout (and have been since 1st grade, Tiger cub) and am on track to make Eagle this summer or next fall. I have already taken 2 AP classes, taking 2 right now, and plan to take 6 next year (cannot be changed). My other extracurriculars are a bit lacking since I don't have much time after Boy Scouts and Golf, but I have been to a few computer science competitions, one of which on a national level. Most likely gain employment at a golf course this summer (if it matters).

- GPA: (through 3 semesters) 3.93 unweighted, 4.50 weighted
- PSAT: 2000 Freshman Year, 1430 Sophomore Year (on track in Texas for NMS)
- AP: (so far) 5 on Computer Science and 5 on Human Geography

Thanks in advance, Jack

Focus on class rank, go to boys state, become involved in student council and NHS and you will be VERY strong in your application (CFA needs to be strong too of course)

The golf team has won state before, but that was ten years ago. Unless I have some sort of divine intervention, I will not be able to play at that level during my high school career (even varsity to some extent, golf is a fickle sport). On class rank, my school is very competitive (2 people went to MIT last year, even though my school is public) so I bet I will end up top 15 out of 400 or so. What can I do to offset my weak-ish sports category? My schedule is locked in for next year so I am most likely only going to play golf.

Join a fall sport. As a swimmer I can recommend swimming as it will keep you in fantastic shape for your CFA.
