I'm not too sure how recruiting for sports works at Kings Point, but can you be recruited for swimming? and if so, would it help in the application process? I swim now, and I would love to continue swimming past high school. USMMA is definitely one of my top choices for college, so having the oppertunity to go to Kings Point AND swimming would be amazing. Thanks for the help

The Men's Swim Team is Div III. After filling out the recruiting questionnaire, DS was contacted by the former asst. coach. You still need to be medically/physically and scholastically qualified and obtain a nomination. Go to the USMMA website, click on Athletics and Men's Sports and Swimming/Diving for more info.

It's important to have something that you enjoy doing while at KP other than schoolwork.

My DS was recruited for swimming. The best thing to do is contact the swim coach, Coach Tedesco or Assistant Coach Raffile. They both kept in constant contact with my son and helped in the process when we had questions. Coach Raffy, as they call him, even helped my son to have a sleep over when they were not scheduling them for the weekend that we were going to be there. Besides meeting all the requirements necessary, the coaches were a tremendous asset. They will send you a questionaire for your swim coach to fill out which basically ask if you would be competitive enough for Div. III and you have to send them your best times. PM me for their email addresses.

Hope this helps.

shutterbugC has some great advice. My P/C DD has been a competitive swimmer since she was five. Coach Tedesco was extremely helpful and supportive during the long application process. The swimming and diving team have Facebook pages you can check out and I logged into "Fans of USMMA Swimming and Diving" today and got to see some pictures of my daughter having fun with her team mates. We live in New Jersey so we'll be able to see her at many of the meet venues. So I'm as happy as she is for the opportunities swimming presents.
