So out of the blue, DS's NROTC MO recruiting sergeant calls him yesterday and wants DS to contact the College Board and have a sealed SAT transcript (online printout would not suffice) mailed to the Captain in charge of his file. DS advised him that we already paid to have the SAT's sent to the NROTC MO college code. "Nope, not good enough." We have to have it requested by telephone and sent to the main NROTC MO office. They said DS is a strong candidate, which is why they are rushing this.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening before?

It seems pretty crazy that they can't access the regular SAT sent to the college code.

Never heard of it before! Looks like your DS has caught the attention of some NROTC officials! Maybe they cant access it due to technical difficulties and the captain would like to look over ds' file himself?

I've never heard of it before and it seems rather unusual. That being said, I'd be doing whatever I could to keep things moving smoothly at this point in time, so I'd attempt to meet their request if at all possible. I agree it might be a case of some officer wanting to review his file in a positive way.

Their game, their rules. I was unimpressed with the NROTC coordinator for my son. He called on a Friday morning and pretty much demanded my son take his PT test that day "since he was sending in a group of applications that day". My son had already arranged for the test to be taken the following Monday before school. He had to scramble and get his PE teacher to administer the test over lunch that day.

When DS met with his recruiter he wanted his test scores too. The Petty Officer logged onto his College Board and ACT accounts and printed them out there.

Thank you everyone. DS was able to contact College Board last night and $42 bucks later (ugh), get a sealed set of scores overnighted to the USMC Captain.
