Regular Admission

Does anyone know how many scholars appointments they will typically offer?

What are we all going to do with ourselves when this is all over with and the TWE or BFE have come in? I'll have nothing to do!

The statistics would really be meaningless since the number of CGAS appointments (18) is so small and represents less than 15% of the anticipated total number of CGAS appointments that will be offered this year. CGAS appointees are essentially applicants who would have been tendered appointments if their academic background/preparation was stronger, so the applicant's overall record (extracurricular achievement; leadership potential; motivation/desire to attend; etc.) is very strong but we're concerned about their ability to succeed academically during 4/c year without an additional year of academic preparation.

The Academy may be on Spring Break, but Admissions is definitely not...this is actually one of the busiest weeks of RA with Admissions Committee convening almost every day to consider both RA appointment recommendations from the CCEB and EA deferrals recommended for appointment after their reevaluation. We've appointed (and will be mailing out appointment letters shortly for) 17 RA applicants and 21 EA deferrals with another 15-20 appointments probably coming before the week is over.

Thanks for the update Objee!

Objee, Thank you for the update!!!
I have a question. DS received an email from CGA Admissions today. The email was kind of strange. The Subject was:" Admissions officer Event Appointment Modified"

Dear( DS name)
Your appointment has been modified as shown below.

The details of your appointment are:
Program: AIM Information Seminar 2011
Date/Time 3/26/2011 @9:00 Am
Confirmation#: 8613

DS attended AIM Summer 2010 session 3. Do you know what this means??
DS has applied for EA1 and was deferred to RA in December.
Do you know what/why CGA admissions sent this information when DS has already attended AIM? Thank you so much! DS has phoned and left a message with his admissions counselor.rangermom

Any news on when they'll start reviewing the current preps and offering appointments for them?

We're waiting for mid-term grades...whenever those are available, the final reviews will start and appointments will quickly follow.

Wow! Thanks Objee! That's very encouraging news. :thumb:

Actually, I received a call on my cell first letting me know that the appointment was being sent. Very exciting....I nearly dropped the phone. Good luck.
