To have a complete file - you must have your 7th Semester transcript sent to WP by Feb 28 (the file completion deadline).

This applies to ALL those applying for the class of 2016- including those of you who are qualified, offered or accepted.

Don't let this little detail slip!

Here, Here! Nothing gets the blood flowing like the little "get-it-in-by-Friday-or-we-will-pull-your-appointment" email.

Sir, how does West Point want the 7th semester transcripts sent? Fax, email, or for it to be sent directly by the school? Thank you.

I believe it needs to be sent by the school.

my counselor has said she would send it the moment it is available (early February). Just keep your school keen on getting them sent out.

Concur with all the above. You can have the school send it.

Your school may vary, but with out county system we found it was much faster to request a certified copy at the front desk, then send to USMA ourselves.

Usually could get it the same day, DS would ask first thing in the morning and pickup when school was out that day. It was usually easier to request an extra copy or two for backup schools, and in case one was lost.

The most important thing was that we knew it was sent rather than sitting in some county office somewhere waiting for the transcript person to wade through the stack.

BTW, certified just means sealed envelope with a stamp/signature across the seal. All the academies & colleges we dealt with were fine with that.

If you chose to send it yourself, there are 3 options to do that.

    1) Mail to:
West Point Admissions - *your region ie Northeast, Southeast etc*
    646 Swift Road
    West Point, NY 10996-9903
    OR
    2) Fax to: 845-938-3021
    OR
    3) Email to:: admissions@usma.edu.

    Great information-
Strong advice - do not just let the "system" at your school send the transcripts in their own time. Go to the appropriate school official and explain that it is critical that the transcript be sent to West Point immediately and ask them to expedite. In my son's case last year admissions wanted the transcript sent directly from the school by mail or Fax.

    Active

How does this effect those of us who are appointed and active duty?

Just wanting to make sure I'm not needing to send in anything new.

    Very Respectfully,

Does not apply to soldiers or people who have already graduated :)

I stand corrected. I tend to overlook the enlisted soldiers since I don't deal with them much. My apologies.

If you are in college, then WP wants the first semester transcript.

Thanks for keeping me honest. :thumb:
