Report card vs. Transcript

Just wondering if anyone knows (before son calls Admissions), if his school could send his 1st semester report card, rather than transcripts. Marking period ends this Friday and counselor said report card would be ready quicker than transcripts. (Honestly, I don't know what could take so long, but I don't work there!)

Also, counselor offered to have report card faxed to CGA. Anyone tried that?

I have the same issue, by the time midterms are over, it'll be the 22nd, allowing the transcript to be sent around the 26th. That's cutting it very close in my opinion, but I don't have much other choice.

I'll send in 2nd quarter and 1st quarter grades in beforehand to let the CCEB know that it's not me being last minute.

Didn't really see a reply to this issue. We are having the same problem. Because numerous students take online classes from universities, the school waits to do transcripts, class ranks, GPA, etc., until the colleges have reported grades. We got report cards a week ago, but still are unable to get a transcript or update rank and GPA info. Apparently, the processing of a report for all seniors at once takes more than 5 minutes, so our school will not do it without all scores in for everyone. Any clue if these will be accepted after Feb 1?
 
Son called Admissions. Transcripts will be accepted up to February 15. Hopefully, his will be ready by then...we sent a copy of report card today, just in case. Good luck!!
 
Our admissions officer emailed us back about this question last night. The email stated that updates to your application are accepted up until February 15;however, only those items bearing a postmark of no later than February 1st. Any items dated after February 1 will not be accepted.
We understand that answer pretty clearly, but the academy accepts SAT scores from what we understand from the January 23 test. Interestingly enough, the earliest date those results go out from college board is Feb 11.
 
If I were you I would have your kids fax or mail in a copy of the report card with a friendly note that the transcripts are not available yet and will be sent asap.

Transcripts take much longer than a report card. Most schools will re-rank the class after the 7th semester and that is done after report cards. Hang in there, the academy will understand.
If your kids made Honor roll or high honors, please have them mention that - they can enlose a copy of their certificate if they received one.
