I am curious to see if anyone has any insight into how the nomination system for Rhode Island works. In particular, do the MOC's coordinate nominations between them? Also, with regard to USNA, how competitive is Rhode Island, specifically RI-02? I spoke with a USNA admissions rep who said they 'do not struggle to fill' spots from RI, but he said his area of expertise was Massachusetts, and a few other things he said led me to believe he was speaking more about RI-01, which has a much stronger sea/Navy tradition than my district does. Thanks in advance for the help.

You might have your child check with your Representative's nomination coordinator. Typically, they are pretty open about the process and, if so, are the best source of information. This is a slow time for them, so a good time to check in.

    Thank you USNA1985-

I spoke with the coordinator for Sen. Whitehouse a couple weeks ago, but I didn't think to ask him then (I'm a HS junior, BTW). I will try to get in touch with him later this week, though. Thank you.
