RIP a Christmas POW Hero

God bless him. These men and women in Vietnam were also America's Great Generation in my eyes. God bless them all.

Lost a Vietnam Vet Marine brother to cancer last summer. As Rambo said, 'got killed in Nam and didn't even know it, cancer ate him down to the bone'. A slow acting cancer activated by a trauma gained speed and cut him down in his early 60's. When we got him to Hospice at the VA at 100 lbs the Officer MD said, 'Marine, I'm going to give it to you straight'. My brother did his best to stand unaided at attention the best he could and looked him right in the eye as he was told he had a few days at best. He look straight back at the Doc and said ' Sir, after what we went through I've counted everyday since '69 as a blessing, go take care of the others, I'm good to go'.
