Facebook is up to over 200 pictures of todays induction. DS came in and just smiled he is home 2nd block. Asked him if he wished he was there to do it again----well you can imagine his reply! He just looked at me grinned and said--I've got my own roller-coaster ride today----yep he and buddies have gone to an amusement park to ride a different kind of roller-coaster. Looking at the posted pictures brings back a lot of memories from this past year. Just keep in mind new parents----it is all for a reason even if you don't understand -you are not supposed to. For now fasten your seat belts and try to enjoy the ride. Next stop STRIPES!

Parents of new plebers, blackhawkmom had an epic Plebe Summer herself last year. If she can get through it, so can you - we never had any doubt about her DS, just her!

blackhawkmom- So good to see you on here offering others advice. I remember following you last year and how much you and your DS were in my prayers. I know it is wonderful for you to see the change in your son and I am sure all for the better. My DS did not receive an Appt for the class of 2015, but he is going to work hard this coming year and re-apply. He sure wishes he was starting his "roller coaster" ride. God Bless you and your family:)

You never know how much you can take, until you have to take it! Blackhawkmom certainly learned just how strong she is last summer!

My former Plebe also came in and saw me looking at the pics. His comment, "Haha...poor slobs!" Then he said, "I used to think I couldn't wait to stick it to some Plebe like was done to me a few times. I'm glad I don't feel that way anymore. Mentoring the new guys will only make our company stronger...and it's already a great company!" (His company was Iron Company this year, and he's pretty proud of that! :thumb:)

I love what my kid has already learned and know he has so much more growing to do. Can't wait to see him in three years! GO NAVY!!!

Thanks everybody---yes we made it through----DS said he cant wait to get his plebe. His comments are---"hope i get someone who needs me like i needed my youngster last year." He has great friends and even finally made friends with some of MY friends plebes excuse me YOUNGSTERS--boy does that feel good-lol. You never know how or for what reason these kids are put together but you will see as this year progresses. Paths with other plebes from other companies and parents that pull them through / hardships they triumph from and yep even doting mom's who irritate them because they ask questions all the time from reading the dreaded "listserve". Which by the way even if your kid hates the listserve which they will----it will be a lifesaver just like this forum---TRUST ME! One thing i might suggest concerning both ---take what you need from both ---shift the crap and personal opinions aside -don't let some of the members of each hurt your feelings and find a friend to connect with a kindred spirit so to speak one who will empathize or sympathize.( I found 3 ) All our kids are different just as we are ---some of us have ZERO military experiences some have lots. If you have it good for you if you don't you will-lol.
