ROTC Application Process

I don't believe there is a newer version or another more recent book.

A great source of information is this site, look through current and past threads and you'll find a great deal of current information.

The process has changed so much since that book was written.

Follow the threads here and ask questions and you'll get some good current information to help you along the way.

What service are you looking at.

NROTC

If you are looking at NROTC I have found that the NC State and Vanderbilt NROTC home pages list quite a bit of info.

Hello, I have already read this book
http://www.amazon.com/How-Win-Rotc-...sr=8-1&keywords=how+to+win+a+rotc+scholarship

And it has helped a lot. However, the book was written almost 14 years ago. Meaning pre-9/11 and pre-Afghan War. So obviously a lot has changed.

I was hoping someone had another, more recent, book on the scholarship process? Thanks.

I read this book in 2012 when DS was applying. It is a little old. However, the information for writing essays, interviews, how to carry oneself, manner protocol, and other general aspects that apply to the military were extremely beneficial. We have no one in our family who is military, so this helped us to understand what the military is looking for.

The specific order and details of application are different. . Just make sure that you follow the process cadet command wants and don't rely on the book for that aspect. And, Really look hard at the essay part, interview, and self presentation sections. First impressions are lasting and more difficult to change later. Good luck to you guys.
