ROTC DoDMERB

NROTC ap No change...

:bang:My son completed his NROTC ap and submitted mid-August. No change in DODMERB or NROTC status, yet! Fingers crossed. . . Heard from our recruiter that the first two Boards had convened, at last.

I'm a little confused by this thread.

If an applicant is applying ONLY for NROTC, and not any other ROTC branch or any Academy, is there a live DODMERB page?

As far as I know, NROTC-only applicants are not scheduled for a physical exam until after being awarded a scholarship, so there would be no DODMERB status for such an applicant, correct?

Oh, last thing -- assuming there is a DODMERB status/file, how does one get to it?

^ yes, this is the first I have read on this or any internet Board that the NROTC Board has actually met. Any confirmation out there?

Evidently MissCrine has this information confirmed by their recruiter.

Same deal here. Finished my app in mid-August, still haven't had a change in either of my statuses. I don't know if your son was told, but I was told that my application would not reviewed by the first board, rather it would be on the of the first ones reviewed at the second board...

There was a paperwork mix-up and I don't think Pensacola received my full application until August 20.

I'm amazed that anyone can be confused by this thread:confused::confused::confused:

I'll try it again: Any of you having questions...U may email me at Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil. Provide your full name and last 4 SSN.::thumb::thumb:

Larry:

What part of the confusion on this thread do you think you can clear up?

Do you know when the NROTC boards actually met and if they met?

:thumb::thumb:

Quite simply. If you are an applicant; you provide me your full name and last 4 SSN in an email to Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil; I can tell you "if" you have been offerred a scholarship AND if NROTC has downloaded tU to DoDMERB ...for the purposes of obtaining the medical exam component of the scholarship process. Conversely, I can also tell you if we don't have your name. Or, people can continue to guess until they receive the schoalsrhip notification in the mail and/or are contacted by DoDMERB. Totally the applicant's choice. I was just trying to help in spite of folks guessing. So, if you want my assistance, email me. If you don't, don't:thumb:

Rutro MullenLE, you do now know your email container will be filled to the brim. You are really too nice to the detriment of your own sanity.:worship::angel::groupwave:

Larry: Thank you for the normal type size. It looks SO much better than that huge font you used in your previous post.

How many hours/days after NROTC (or any other ROTC program) downloads "tu" to the DodMERB site is it before the DoDMERB site reflects that information? Instead of every applicant sending PMs to you it might be advantageous for us to understand the time frame that your program operates under so that we know what to expect.

Mullen.

I understand AG's question, maybe when you respond CC it to the mods, or tell us to CC it so it could be a STICKY on the ROTC forum.

I might be wrong, but it appears the ROTC forum over the past yr or so has really gained traction on this site, if so it would make your life easier.

NROTC Scholarship Selection Notification

Unfortunately, we do not discuss any applicant's status for a Naval ROTC Scholarship at anytime during the selection process until a final decision has been made due to the fact that our scholarship selection cycle is not completed until April 2011.

Our selection boards meet monthly to ensure timely selection for applicants. If you are not selected, your application will then "roll" to the next board. This will continue to occur until the end of board selections in April. Applicants who are not selected will then be notified. However, you may currently be selected and will soon be informed. You will receive a selection letter if you are selected. You can also check the NROTC website, that will be updated as soon as the letters are completed, this will tell you ahead of time if you are selected during the previous board.

Your acceptance to a college or university has no weight on a board's decision to select you or not.

Should we need any amplifying information from you, we will contact you by one of the available means listed on your application or through your NROTC coordinator.

Please be patient as we have many applicants. I understand that it can be anxious and stressful while awaiting results, but please check your online application status at the NROTC website periodically for any updates.

This tells you that if you don't make it one board you will be re-visited

Great info.

Melissa,

I would ask you to see if they can make you a sticky on the ROTC forum, or a sub forum.

Thank you from an AFROTC Mom for taking your time out of your life to dis-spell rumors, fallacies, and BS.

This information along with Larry Mullen's response to my previous post should answer a lot of questions from those going through the ROTC scholarship application process.

Larry Mullen: It's great to have you back on the ROTC forum! Perhaps you can address my question in post #33 of this thread. Thanks!:thumb:

DodMERB?

I just received an AFROTC Scholarship but I have yet to have any word on where and when my DoDMERB medical exam is going to be and where. thanks for any help you can give me!!

Mr. Mullen,

Is your offer good for only NROTC candidate? Or, can you shed light on the AROTC candidates also.

My son really wants to apply to his dream school in the Early Decision round. The deadline is Nov 10. His dream #2 schoo's early decision deadline is Nov 15. However, I am afraid that the the results of AROTC will not be available officially before either of these deadlines. If there is a good indication (not a perfect indication or guarantee) that the odds are good that my son may get a scholarship after the first board, he may just submit the early decision application.

The beauty of Early Decision is that my son will know the outcome by Dec 10-15. If he gets a scholarship, and gets admitted a school, he will be able to pick the scholarship school before the 30 day period is over, and he will be done with ALL the admission/scholarship stuff by 12/15. This will make his holiday season a very happy one.
