I'll be attending college in the fall on a 4-yr Army ROTC scholarship and recently I received a letter congratulating me on receiving the scholarship and it went on to say that with the letter they included name tapes for my uniforms. However the envelope was completely ripped opened when I got it and there were no name tapes inside. There is no contact info such as an email or phone number in the letter for the recruiter who signed it so I'm a little confused as to what I should do. It didn't come from my school's Gold Bar recruiter or cadre but should I contact them or maybe there's someone else at CC I should get in touch with. Any advice you guys can offer?

Definitely call your ROTC at your school and let them know about it. They'll know what to do.

On that subject, will we get our name tape from cadet command or from our battalion?

I would imagine you would get your Name Tapes from the battalion.

My younger son will be starting school and ROTC this fall at the same school his older brother is attending. His older brother is currently at LDAC. Neither son was sent Name Tapes prior to arriving at school, older son got his when he received his uniforms from the battalion, younger son has not received them so I would think it will be the same for him. Looks like each battalion does it differently.

Clarkson what's your advice on this one? DS wants to order tapes now (non-army internet store) because another friend said his battalion did not order tapes until school began and then they took months to come and it wasn't fun to be nameless.

Our battalion doesn't give to new cadets for a while, but to be honest, I wouldn't order them ahead of time. It's really not a big deal. Those in your CoC who need to know your name will learn it. Plus it's really fun putting them on for the first time with the other MSIs.

I would suggest waiting. No sense spending money on something you will be issued. You'll get your nametapes soon enough.
