Hello everyone. I will be applying for the Marine Option ROTC this coming year. I am a 17 year old male Junior. I just want so tips and pointers for the process. Below are some of my statistics

4.2 GPA
26 ACT (30 English 27 Math)
285 pft (20 pull-ups, 100 sit-ups, 20:30 3 mile)
Captain of Football Team (3 years)
Student Government President (4 years)
60+ community service hours
Long Family history of officers in Marine Corps

Just need some extra guidance and this seems like the right place to ask.

I'm also applying for AROTC, USNA, USMMA, USMA, USCGA.

I applied Navy Option but heavily considered checking the MO block on the application. A universal staple among both options' applications is the weight carried by the essays; focus on writing well thought out and unique essays that the readers will not be able to categorize with the majority of the rest. Don't go off on a tangent irrelevant to the prompt but also don't be afraid to be creative. Also of importance is the interview and there is a plethora of information regarding proper decorum for interviewing on other threads. Your PFT is in the ball park but, as with everything, there is always room for improvement so keep training until you can knock out a 300. The best advice, IMO, is to submit your application as early as possible without sacrificing quality, especially because the USMC only holds two boards. Not only will completing your app early impress the recruiting staff and increase the odds of your app appearing on the November board, doing so will also spare you more time in your senior year to complete the other applications you said you were going to complete. Best of luck! :thumb:
