I am planning on reapplying and will be in Army ROTC on scholarship at my school. What is the process for ROTC applicants? Do I still have a BGO?

Also, since I will be in an Army unit, is it still possible to receive an ROTC nom to USNA?

Thanks!

I was an Air Force ROTC applicant, and I don't think you can get a ROTC specific nomination.. I think they save that to only NROTC.

Application process is basically the same. Since you are in ROTC, I'm assuming you're in college, so the only difference is that you will need to send a college transcript as well as your high school transcript.

I applied to my congressional district back where I used to live, which was my home through high school; I also applied to the senatorial nomination. Received the congressional.. still waiting for the USNA's response.

Good luck!

My understanding of the process is that, if you are in an "honors" unit of Army or AF ROTC, you can receive an ROTC nom. I honestly have no idea what an "honors" unit is -- you'll need to ask someone on the ROTC boards.

You will be assigned the same BGO; per my sticky on reapplying, I recommend you ask for a second (new) one.

Thank you both.

I will be reapplying from Norwich. Is there a certain stigma attached to applying to the service academies out of ROTC?
