ROTC scholarship thread

I am going to start a new thread to answer your post Packer. I just feel that if we start this dialogue we will divert the thread.

It was a CLS but can't mention school until official acceptance. Anyone else get a CLS?

I may be wrong, but CLS is not HSSP, it is awarded by the college and not AFROTC HQ per se regarding scholarships. OBTW, in no way am I trying to say you are not the best of the best. I am saying, that CLS from what I understand comes from the school, and in a traditional sense would not be considered by AFROTC candidates as a Type 1 HSSP. It is akin to A/NROTC where you only can use it at that college only, in other words if University of Alabama awarded you this, you can't attend Notre Dame or UNCCH with that scholarship, you must attend UA.

Type 1 OTOH through the HSSP would allow you to attend any of the 3 colleges I just mentioned.

I am naive on this subject because CLS is a rarity. I think your expertise on how the CLS works will be an asset to every poster and lurker. Information is knowledge when it comes to the military.

Please start a new thread so we don't divert this one, and assist/educate/inform/walk us through on how to get CLS for AFROTC.
