If one accepts an ROTC 4 year scholarship but then hears back from WP that he/she got in, is the ROTC scholarship binding? Also, does Fort Knox get the DODMERB from WP or is that something my DS needs to forward to Fort Knox?
Thanks!
Did they find out today? My DS was awarded a 3 year to three schools, his friend to one school. Friend requested transfer and it was denied.
What would be a reason to only get one school listed?
Might be due to OML, (wasn't competitive enough to get awarded all schools) or just the other schools already had spots filled (money issue)Not sure when. DS told me yesterday afternoon. I just thought it was odd that his scholarship was only good at one school.
What your ROO said tracks with what DD was told about the TARGET NOTIFICATION for transfers being shifted to 22 May 2015. The email for CC also said "We understand that you are awaiting a decision and will process your request as quickly as possible."DS spoke to school that he hopes to transfer too. The ROO reported that the deadline for transfer has been extended until May 10th because some folks didn't receive paperwork until later. Has anyone else heard this? Any thoughts are most appreciated, to me it sounds unlikely that DS will know an answer by May 1st-if the 10th is accurate report. Just planning to gather funds to put another school deposit down in case the AROTC transfer doesn't work out in time or at all. Starting to lose hope a bit.
So they said they will try to have notifications out by today? What your ROO said tracks with what DD was told about the TARGET NOTIFICATION for transfers being shifted to 22 May 2015. It was actually odd to see some get offers to more then one school, often the by the third board the offers are limited.
By the third board many schools have filled their quota, another thing to remember is that the PMS at a school will review all the applicants that list their school, they will put a check mark next to each name stating one of three things.
3 year AD
4 year
No Scholarship (Or something like that)
Many time the applicants do not know which one they check unless the PMS tells them. This can also be a reason that a transfer does not go through, or as someone else stated, the battalion had reached the number of cadets they want from the National Board. They may still have slots available but they want to offer those in house once they see who they've got.
