I just have a question, I have been offered an AROTC scholarship and I signed the acceptance of the scholarship contingent on a medical waiver I need. I have been waiting for months to hear back. In that time, I think I may have decided that ROTC is not for me. Is it possible to just tell them that I don't want it any more, and back out? I haven't been given any money, I haven't sworn in, I have only been offered a scholarship and signed for it's acceptance. I have, however, finished my 1040-R

It sure is...make completely sure you are making the right choice, and let the Battalion know about your decision. I'm sure they'll be happy to know you aren't doing something you aren't 100% committed to, and they will be happy to hopefully make that offer to the next student in line.

Thanks clarksonarmy, I really appreciate your response. It helps me out a lot. I'm going to take a bit more time to think it through, and I will let them know. Thanks again, I was worried that I was going to have to take it since I signed for it.
