Hey everyone,

Not sure if this should be in the nomination forum (sorry if it should be). Anyways, I received my letter from the ROTC board stating that I had won the Army ROTC 4 yr scholarship. Would this be something worth mentioning during my congressional nomination interview? Thanks!

ROTC

Yes, it shows you are moving forward with your goals. There are many paths to become commissioned in the Army and you are working on two.

My DS also received a ROTC scholarship on the first board this past Friday. He had his first academy nomination interview on Saturday. He mentioned the scholarship during his interview and he thought it was well received and most members of the committee commented favorably to the information.

I'm not sure this would necessarily be the case with every nominating committee, but for his interview, they thought it was favorable.

During my son's interviews they were very interested in what his plan B was. He was able to say that he had an ROTC scholarship to TAMU and he would use it to earn a commission. They seemed to like his answer.
