Good evening,

My portal states I have received an RSCOM nomination and I am curious if anyone knows what this acronym stands for? or where this nomination would be coming from?

Thank you

I saw that thread and read it over once more but was confused on exactly where the RSCOM nomination is coming from.

I am by means no expert but was intrigued by the question and did some research. It appears RSCOM stands for reserve components nomination.(source-http://www.serviceacademyforums.com/index.php?threads/rscom.37215/) According to West Point's website this is how you receive this nomination. I hope this helps to clarify
  • Regular Army and Reserve Components (Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard)
To request a nomination under this category, submit your commander's endorsement, which is included in your application. Please provide your commander with the following Commander's Guidance that can be used during his interview with you. Soldiers who are not offered an appointment to West Point are automatically considered for enrollment in the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS).
