Hello. I have a quick question about running shoes during BCT. I know on the first day you show up with normal shoes but should I buy actual cross country running shoes or will I not be able to wear them at all during BCT? I know you get issued running shoes but when you run during BCT, do you have an option to choose which shoes you want to use? Thanks

Check out the thread on Current Cadets, Ask Us, I asked them the same question. They said cadets will be issued running shoes during BCT and then can wear their own after BCT is finished.

I am on my phone, so can't post the thread, but I am certain you can find it.

If you are referring to shoes with spikes, I can almost guarantee that they are not allowed. But don't let this worry you, because they are definitely not necessary. A majority of the running you are doing in BCT will be in ABUs and boots.
For after BCT, the trails around the academy are great to run on. If you are really into running, you may consider buying XC shoes. When that time comes, the decision is up to you!
