Sometime ago, I read in this forum that the value of scholarship package of usna around 350K, the usma, usaf almost the same, the uscga and usmma somewhere around 300K.

I also believe that at a Senior day when a school announce the scholarship amount for its senior class, the school claims all the scholarships that "promise" to its student. Example if a student applies for 3 colleges , and each college promises to give him/her 20K scholarship then 60K will be added into the total amount of the "potential" scholarship value

If that is the case then let assume that a student applied and received the appointments for ALL of these SA. Can the school add almost 2 million dollar just from this student into its claim ???

Different school systems, states, etc have differening requirements on what is posted. My state's requirements is only that which is awarded.

My school does total, but they also break it down to amount accepted. So if you got an ROTC scholarship + X amount of service academies...they total it all in. GA also has the HOPE scholarship, where the state pays tuition for every in state public school and gives a small stipend for every in-state private school (provided the GPA is above a 3.0). Most kids will apply to UGA/GA Tech, so that gets factored in.

Off a class of about 250-300, the total amount of scholarships offered was $12,156,025. The total amount accepted was $4,266,057. As you can see any school that posts the total amount only is a bit misleading.

Precisely though, while these represent pricetag of education provided, none are deemed "scholarships" nor grant-in-aids. A USNA education is more like training/education deemed requirements of the employer ...USN. In order to have a "scholarship", there must be a tuition, room and board that is being paid-in-part or full ...USNA has none. The figure is determined by dividing the annual budget by annual enrollment.

Another illumination on this is that the NCAA does not impose any "scholarship" tags on SA athletes, and thus they are not limited to a specific number of scholarship recruits in any given year.
