hello all, I am a bit concerned about my SAT scores. I believe that I am a strong applicant, except for my SAT scores. I am retaking them multiple times, but I am worried that I do not have a shot at all for an appointment with my scores. any input/advice?

You can still late register for the 1/23 SAT. According to the admissions website, the will accept the 1/23 scores even if received after 1/31. You have one more shot at boosting the score, and 10 days to prep.

Take the test and make sure your plans B and C are locked and loaded. This way you know you tried your best and won't have to look back and wonder "what if?"

First of all, you don't give any scores, so we can't really comment. Secondly, you are only a junior and once you have more education under your belt you may do better. Thirdly, what are you doing to improve yourself? SAT tutoring, prep course, practice? Try the ACT, you may do better. Worry never got anyone anywhere. Now go do something about it.

Good, then you still have time to significantly improve your scores. There are "scores" of threads on this forum on both the SAT and the ACT.

Falcon is correct, some people do better on one versus the other. After the SAT, focus on building a strategy to improve the test you feel most comfortable with. Don't just keep taking the test repeatedly without applying test taking tactics available in library books or free websites like Khan Academy:

    https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/sat

If you can afford it, take a class or hire a tutor, but there are lots of free and low cost options to practice with a plan.

There are some Problem solving "tricks" or tactics that can be employed especially in the math section of the SATs. Most of the self study books have a chapter on tactics. You may be able to find one of your schools math teachers that can help with test prep. Nothing you don't already know but you need another 100 math points to meet the USNA average. But u still have time.

Like others have said, take the ACT also. Many prefer one over the other, even if it's just a mental thing.

DS received email from Admission's counselor to ask if he was going to take the next SAT or ACT. He scores were ok but not great...after a few emails back and forth he will take the ACT on Feb 6th and they will still look at his new scores.

You willing to share what his scores were? Glad he gets to retake and feel for him at the same time....Does he feel pressure for the retake?

    SAT Math 590 CR 630
    ACT M 24
4.3 GPA with Honors and AP Classes
Varsity Football, Varsity Lax (team captain 2 years) and just added Varsity Swim this year.
    Various clubs and community service.
I took it as a good sign that the admission's counselor reached out, but who knows. NROTC application in and Plan B-D are in as well.

Good Luck to you as well. DS wants to be an Officer in the Navy or Marines. I am just being his #1 supporter in the process! Sending positive vibes to all.
