SAT/ACT Troubles

Hello, all!

So I got my SAT scores back today. I am a junior in high school at the moment and took the SAT for the first time in December. I got my scores back and they were devastatingly low (1540). I am in honors and AP classes with only have 4 b's and all a's my high school career so this score was shocking. I'm so stressed out and in a huge dilemma. I'm signed up to take the January SAT but I feel like there's no way I can raise my scores to USAFA standards in a month... And I really don't want to take the new SAT for various reasons. So I should I just take the ACT? because that isn't changing so I can always study and retake it as many times as I want. I'm just really upset and disappointed in myself because I know I can do better. Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

This is what I suggest because of looking back on what may have worked better for DD. Find a tutor for the SATS have them evaluate what you are not doing well in. (Some teachers actually moonlight and can cut a student some slack on the cost. Lots of good hearted teachers out there) If they tutor for context of the test you are not grasping that would be great. It may be that piece of the puzzle you did not grasp in your math English science class. Makesure you are not distracted on test day. Eat brain food the day before and in the morning before you take your test. Get a good night sleep. I don't know how many times my dd was doing something school or sports related the day before or running to go to... right after or before the test. (Sounds momish but there is truth behind it.)

Definitely take the ACT. Take them as many times you can afford
As competitive as the SA selections you need a min of 30 and 1850.

I don't want to stress you out anymore but be on top of getting in your applications in way before the deadline. Make sure the people writing your recs understand sending in those recs at the deadlines can push you back to later boards. If the deadline is the 15th you make sure it is all in 30 days before.

In honor of Star Wars...may the force be with you. ;)
