Does anyone know which companies will be assigned to the Eagle, which weeks. Would love to see my kid, when it docks, and am wondering is that is a possibility. Thanks.

Which company is "your kid" in? Then I can give you a rough guess.

^ You should be the Halifax to Portland week

    So:

Alfa, Bravo, Charlie: Halifax to Portland
Delta, Echo, Foxtrot: Portland to Newport
Golf, Hotel: Newport to New London

By the way...RDay is one week from today!

    T&F,

I thought that I saw here and on another forum that the order was being changed this year with Golf and Hotel going first. Any word on that? Also, is there a method to the phase change? For example, is port time lumped at one end of the trip or the other or do they get equal time in each port? Just trying to see our Swab. Most of the ports would be very doable for us so we could be flexible. However, Halifax would be a challenge so we'd need to plan.

And, yes, one week to go!

I stand corrected:smile: I just talked to my old roommate from last semester who will be an eagle cadre. So what I posted above, just switch the ports for alfa, bravo, charlie and golf/hotel. As for how the phase changes work, it depends on how travel orders are drafted. When I was a swab, we were in fort lauderdale for 2 to 2.5 days and savannah for maybe a day and a half. Remember though, your swab will most likely be standing duty while in port in at least one of the port calls. For example, I did not have duty in fort lauderdale but had it while we were in savannah so I did not have liberty in georgia. Your swab won't know when he will have duty until he gets on Eagle. Also, the new london port call would most likely just involve the swabs packing and then getting on a bus back to the academy. (Hope this reads alright...I'm replying using my phone.)

So how do they get to Halifax or the other ports? Bus or plane or train?

Just out of curiosity why are hotel/golf being switched with A B & C?

In short, it makes sea trials better and more balanced logistically. When we went through swab summer golf/hotel did sea trials together and alfa/bravo/charlie/delta/echo/foxtrot did sea trials together. Instead of having 2 and 6 we now have 3 and 5.

    T-6 days!
