Can anyone give me the value of an AROTC scholarship to VMI (Bruno?) and The Citadel. Need to report it to the school. Thx. :thumb:

I believe if it is a four-year scholarship it will cover

tuition plus $1200 for books. Citadel tuition is avaliable at the Citadel website. The scholarship does not cover room and board.

Note, I said, "I believe." Take my answer for what it is worth ~ 2 cents!

The Army values it's AROTC scholarship at $150,000 for Tuition.
At The Citadel that is about $24,000 a year plus book and fees. They also factor in the pay you'll receive every month.

I think that $24K includes room and board. I'm not sure that the AROTC pays that

whole amount. My understanding is that it pays tuition, but not room and board.

I could be wrong, of course!

Yes, and of this I'm certain as I just sat in a parents seminar at The Citadel last month, going over what we would owe after the Army's scholarship was paid; it was close to $12,000 for the first year with a uniform deposit (The Core of Cadets uniform, not USA uniforms) before any other financial assistance ie: Pell Grants or scholarships.

AROTC only pays for tuition and books, no room and board or as in the case of The Citadel, the $5,000 Corps of Cadets uniform deposit.
