Scholarship vs Non-Scholarship Cadets

Non-scholarship vs Scholarship doesn't really matter.

Contracted is the only term you should care about.

Absolutely. The Citadel had more scholarships than knew what to do with last year, now we're having a hard time contacting MSIII's. On the other hand, the small liberal arts school in my hometown has struggled to contract kids for a long time.

There are all kinds of stories about how back in 2003-05, if you had a 3.0 and weren't a convicted felon in high school you could get a 4 year ROTC scholarship. There's a few seniors at my school that said just a few years ago a 2.0 and a passing pt score equaled a contract. And contracting actually existed in the Air Force to! :shake:
 
I agree that scholarship vs non-scholarship doesn't matter, except that the scholarship people can benefit from more personal attention from cadre and MS professors because scholarship cadets have more defined goals to meet in order to keep the scholarship.

DS's roommate is on 4-year scholarship and gets pulled by cadre to do more intense runs and more intense workouts than the other guys in his company.

The non-scholarship cadet, however, can get just as far on his own if he puts his mind to it. Who's pushing you to work harder? Push yourself.
