Have your son ask his Blue and Gold Officer for the current status of your son's application package.
It sounds as if your son is academically qualified and waiting to hear about a nomination/appointment. That's where most candidates are at this time of the year.
A single individual BGO or admisssions board member doesn't withdraw offers of NAPS. That would be a group decision, and I think would be taken to allow the candidate to compete for the class of 2013.
