School Transfer for AROTC scholarship?

I'll play the room and board game....Eastern Kentucky University - standard room, double occupancy, a/c, community hall bathroom 3,410.00 a YEAR. 150 meals + 375.00 credit to use at campus based vendors(yes, starbucks in on her plan) 2,468.00 a YEAR. Total= 5,878 a YEAR to live on campus. No crazy fees, 12.00 for athletic facility usage a semester and 35.00 semester to park on campus. Yes, my older DD loves her school!!!

DS's #1 school room/standard, hall bath, 2 people, a/c = 5,458 YEAR, meal plan 4.421 a YEAR = 9,879, its slightly higher than tuition, now I know why they don't offer housing with their merit scholarships. Eastern does. #1 school does charge for a loft(100.00 year) EKU doesn't allow lofts.

If you know someone with solid 3.75 gpa, a ACTscore higher than 30 - Eastern hands out a lot of full ride academic scholarships - 3.0 to keep. Join the honors program(selective but do able)they will also pay for your books on loan. Its a smaller school (12K on campus)just outside of Lexington to the south.

Have seen some crazy room and board charges -- we've shopped about 15 schools now between the 2 kids. But I've never seen 12K bills either. Love my small midwest schools!!!

Got awarded a scholarship to a school that hasn't been on my list since October. I will be attending my #1 and they've already covered a large part of the tuition with grants. Anyone know how I can transfer the scholarship???

is that a joke??? did you read the first page of this thread???

Thanks for the post. I emailed cadet command, and called/emailed the pms at the school I want to transfer to. Great info, thanks again

The schools involved in our situation are indeed pricey. It is amazing to me that the one school (state school wants DS to play football etc) will not give one thin dime to cover room and board, and the other will give as much as is necessary to cover room and board for DS to attend!

Weird schools in MD.

ClarksonArmy--In the link you provided on the first page of this thread it states you should coordinate with the appropriate scholarship program manager. Would that be the scholarship manager at the gaining brigade (where you wish to transfer the scholarship to), or both managers?

Letter came today and son will be sending request for transfer tomorrow. He's already spoken to the ROO at the school he plans to attend. He will also contact the ROO at the school where the scholarship was awarded.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

I am not Clarkson Army (as u can see) but I read the blog and information, and this is what we did - YMMV, IMHO

Called the ROO for school where he got the scholarship (#2 school)
Visited the ROO for school (#1) where he wants to go, got a quick chance to speak to the Lt. Colonel there.

Roo at (#2) gave me the name/phone number of a contact at CC

Emailed the contact at CC, made her aware of the desire to transfer asked what documentation was needed.

As soon as letter came (4-21), Contacted CC contact and was able to accept scholarship, scan and send all required documentation.

That's where we stand now. INFJ

Just received confirmation on our second 4 Year Scholarship transfer to Marist College. Both have already been updated on the website.
