Will a ticket for not wearing a seat belt affect an appointment to USMA? The officer said it would not appear on my record.

I don't want to speak for admissions, but I had a worse driving offense last year and I was fine.

I got a speeding ticket (18 mph over  - first time driving cross-country and missed a slow down sign approaching a small town). I thought I had lost my appointment for sure, but when I talked to admissions, they said that as long as the offense wasn't criminal and the fine was under $250, they wouldn't take any action.

Candidates, please don't read this and be any less careful and responsible in this next month going in to R-Day. I was fortunate (2 more mph, and I would be going to the local state U), you may not be as lucky :thumb:.

The ticket amount was only $25, but with $126 extra for court fees. I contacted my RC and told him the details. I'll probably get an email back from him tomorrow.

Can't speak for admissions, but DS had a worse ticket(speeding) with a much larger fine. Spoke to his MALO and had to submit all documentation concerning the ticket and court costs. What made his fine so large was that in our small town court cost/processing fees are automatically combined with the infraction fine. Once admissions saw the breakdown of the fine and fees, they gave him the ok. Keep all of your paperwork/ticket handy just in case. Buckle up and use cruise control--

I talked to my RC and he said I will not have my appointment rescinded. I just need to scan the ticket and email it for him to put it on file.
