Has anybody in Arizona heard from Senator Flake's office, yet, regarding nominations?
After my interview I was told that word would get out at the beginning of January. McCain's office has gotten back to me, however. Alas, the waiting game will be a while longer for Senator Flake
Wishful and all other AZ candidates, DD received a letter today from Senator Flake with the following:Has anybody in Arizona heard from Senator Flake's office or Senator McCain's office regarding nomination for class of 2020?

Your credentials were very worthy of a nomination. You indicated on your application that you preferred, as your first choice, a nomination to the U.S. AFA. I am advised that you have received a nomination to that academy from another member of the Arizona delegation. For this reason, and to avoid nominating you twice, you will not receive a nomination from my office to that particular academy.
So, for all other Arizona candidates, the MOC like to coordinate their service academy nominations with one another to avoid nominating an applicant twice to the same academy. This maximizes the number of Arizona students who ultimately receive academy nominations and the opportunity to attend a service academy.
Good luck to everyone as you continue to wait......and wait.....and wait.....
Did your DS receive a NOM to the same SA or one from each for a different SA?I just want to clarify, that last year DS got the letter form Senator Flake's office. However, while did not receive a nomination from, he did receive nominations from both Senator McCain, as well as from our Representative. So, in our case, there was coordination between the Senators, but not with the representative. If you have not received a letter of declination, then it is still possible a Senatorial nomination could still have been given.

Congratulations to your DS. You must be bursting with pride. I hope he is doing well at the USMA.Did your DS receive a NOM to the same SA or one from each for a different SA?I just want to clarify, that last year DS got the letter form Senator Flake's office. He got nominations to both USNA and USMA from our representative and then a nomination to USMA from Senator McCain. No nomination from Senator Flake. He also had Presidential nominations to both. In the end, he got appointments to both USMA and USNA and chose USMA.

FalconsRock, thanks for the update. DS received a call from our congresswoman's committee about his nomination to the Air Force Academy last Monday. He had his interview with Senator McCain's and Senator Flake's nomination committees weeks ago, but he hasn't heard anything from either one. I guess based on what you say, DS doesn't need to wait for any new news on the nomination. Since his application was only completed 2 weeks ago, he will not hear until March then. Now the long wait until then. Good luck to your DD and everyone else.
Well, I don't know how this happened. But DD received a nomination from Senator McCain today. I guess it's true that the senator's coordinate with each other, but the reps do not coordinate with them. So, don't give up hope in AZ.I just want to clarify, that last year DS got the letter form Senator Flake's office.
