Just wondering here, but do I am from New Jersey and was wondering if Senator Menendez and Senator Lautenberg give interviews to all candidates? Or do they know give them to qualified or highly qualified candidates? Do all senators from each state only give interviews to qualified candidates? This is somthing that is just boggling my mind.

Thanks!

noms in GA

In GA, the MOC's accept applications and then narrow down the list to those who will be interviewed. From those interviewed, nominations are made.

I'm pretty sure they give them to all candidates. I am in NJ as well. The interviews were weeks ago however.

Well, I am from CA, but I know for my Congressional Nomination I did not have an interview. I had to send in a resume, transcripts, and if I remember correctly, a few essays.
And yes, I did receive a nomination:)

Where in CA are you, Im in San Diego. Have you heard from Sen. Boxer or Feinstein yet?

I am about 1.5 hours north of Yosemite National Park (District 13). No, I have not heard from either of them, but I did hear they had a record number of applicants.

In Ohio, one senator pre-screens applicants and then has a panel interview the selectees to determine who will get noms. In the recent past he has interviewed about 150 candidates each year. The other senator decided to try to interview all applicants this year; I have not heard how many applicants for noms he received. The results are just now being released, as are the results of several House MOCs. Most of Ohio's MOCs do interview applicants for nominations.
