Hello,

So I recently took the new SAT and ACT this year after only taking the old SAT once. My new SAT score is a lot better than my old one

New SAT: 660 Reading/Writing, 620 Math
Old SAT: 590 Reading, 560 Math, 530 Writing

But my ACT score was disappointing.

ACT: 27 English, 25 Math, 29 Reading, 24 Science, 26 Composite

Should I even bother sending in my ACT scores? I'm not too familiar with the ACT and I don't know if it will benefit me sending these scores in.

No college will super score between old & new SAT. However, if the old version is better overall they will look at that instead.

I didn't say they would super score old and new scores. I was referring to the act/sat scores being super scored. Sorry for the confusion.

Just to clarify, so my new SAT and ACT can be superscored together? Or you mean my ACT will be superscored if I retake it?

From what we understand and we may be wrong, ACT and SAT your new scores would be super scored. Unless we misunderstood the BGO, USNA admissions office and the Mids we have talked to. My DD has taken the SAT once on the old scoring of 2400 and twice on the new scoring 1600. And taken the ACT twice since March. She improved every time on each test. Her last conversation with her BGO, he told her they would super score the most current test scores. Hope I have helped and not confused you or given you any incorrect information. Only going on what we have been told. Good luck!

Super score means they'll look at the best parts of each test. You in essence have 3 tests. Old SAT, new SAT, and ACT. They don't mix and match between the 3. However, they will look at all 3 to give you credit for the best overall performance. The old SAT is finished, so there's nothing you can do about that. Taking the new SAT multiple times will be super scored, as taking the ACT multiple times will result in its own super score. Whichever test gives you the best score will be looked at.

My DD took both SAT (old & new) and ACT multiple times and did better on the ACT. That's why it's wise to try them both.

Hope this helps
