Service Academy Forums® Members,

On Saturday, 18 September at approximately 1200 EST we will be switching to a new and faster server in order to better serve our users.

As a result of this switch, it will take a few hours before our users are able to access the site again. Depending on a user's particular internet service provider (ISP), it may take up to 72 hours. Such extreme cases are, however, rare.

In the event that someone is unable to access the site after a few hours, they can try the following:

1. Clear internet history/cookies/etc. in their browser

2. For those users who are more computer savvy or want to use a more robust method, please follow the following directions to flush and reset your domain name system (DNS) cache
a. Click on Start button and then click on Run (alternatively just hit Windows + R keys) to open Run command dialog. Type Cmd into the Run box, and hit Enter. In Windows Vista, open an elevated command prompt.
b. A command prompt DOS window will open. Type ipconfig /flushdns (note the space) and then press Enter to purge the DNS resolver cache.

See here for more information.

If none of the above methods work, please contact your ISP for further help or e-mail us at serviceacademyforums@gmail.com. We have performed such a switch in the past with very little downtime but each situation is unique.

This server move will allow us to serve web pages faster and accommodate an increased number of visitors.

Thank you for your time.

-TN
