A piece of advice is don't stop there on nominations. Since it is that simple and so many people qualify, it can be very challenging to get in solely on that nomination. Compete for the congressional nominations. This will take a little more work - especially on the front end. Since your husband is active duty, I imagine you don't live where you are registered to vote. I suggest that you gather up the info on 1) which congressional district/state you are in now, 2) same for where you call home/registered to vote, 3) same for your husband's home of record, and then call into/email DS's RC and have a discussion of where he should apply from. Then you'll need to call those representatives to see if you meet their qualification for being domiciled. I've seen it where candidates are better off applying from where they are stationed (like an AF base in ND) and where it is not (some DC-area suburbs where it is the most competitive in the country). Only your RC can point you in the right direction on this one, and then the rest of the legwork to make the nominations happen is yours.
