Candidates for the Class of 2015! All files must be complete by 28 February. This means that your 7th semester transcripts (for HS students) must be at West Point by this date. There will be almost no exceptions. Any file that is not complete will be closed even if you currently have an offer on the table. Remember Offers can be pulled.

Daughters just posted on portal~ we sent it in 2 weeks ago.

Are there any other documents that are needed by that date? I'm mailing my transcript tomorrow. I haven't completed the other forms on the portal yet.

I'm not sure. This is the only thing I've seen about needing a document before a certain date. My daughter has completed everything on her portal except for the travel.

My RC told me I could just fax my transcripts to ensure they get there on time. My school just started the 8th semester last week, and we just now have our grades from last semester.

Who knew?

Once again, if it weren't for this forum...

Our school district doesn't send out the 7th semester transcripts until February 14. DS has an appointment, but if they don't receive the transcripts by the 28th, they could withdraw the offer? Should I go ahead and request a copy and fax them myself?

I would. I think you should call your WP coordinator too.

they could withdraw the offer?

What I copied was right off an official WP Facebook page. So, according to that post, I guess the answer is yes.

I got my counselor to email them to my RC today. He told me he got them, so all's well! Not I just have to sit back and wait til June, while keeping my grades up of course

and fill out a mountain of paperwork :shake:

Thank you so much for posting this. Somehow, we missed that important bit of information. Spent the morning at the high school guidance counselor's office getting the transcripts sent out.

Again, thank you! I learn something new every day with this forum!

whew!

I had 7th semester transcript in hand when talking to admissions 2 weeks ago at an overnight visit and asked if it was needed (even before DS had BFE) and was told "no". Then last week DS got an email basically saying what Lee2015 posted! We faxed it that day!

We were told the same thing when we were there! We have never received an email or anything, so we contacted Admissions this week and this is what we were told "If you have completed your 7th semester you can have it sent in also. Just give one of your envelopes to your guidance counselor if you want or she can send it in a regular envelope." No deadline or anything given. We did send it though.

We went throught the same thing last year. Can be VERY attention grabbing, no? Evidently, there is a statement about it buried in the New Cadet handbook or something like that ... it's not very clear and definitely not in bold print or anything. I am a communications guy by profession, and I would be sure to make some serious changes in my literature if so many people missed something so vital each and every year. At least they send the emails out.

Interesting

This is what is in the instruction booklet for Candidates:

PLEASE NOTE: Files without seventh-semester HS grades
(or fall semester grades for college students) by the completion
deadline of 28 February 2011 will be considered incomplete and
may be closed.

Page 7 for Class of 2015 instruction booklet. While not in bold, they did use the PLEASE NOTE.

Exactly!

Which is why I made sure to have 7th semester transcript in hand when we left Texas for the overnight!
