Shoes Worn When Reporting on R-Day

In the "Instructions for Candidates Offered Admission", it is stated that "Candidates should wear one pair of confortable, well-fitting, inexpensive, black leather laced shoes with plain toe and rubber heel when reporting to West Point." Later, it states that I need to purchase a pair of low quarters from an AAFES store. I purchased both pairs of shoes, but which one do I wear on R-Day. Will I change out of the non-military shoes into the low quarters on R-Day?

If you have the low quarters then wear them. If you don't have or can't get low quarters then get a pair of black leather shoes and wear them - you will only wear them until you get fitted for your low quarters.

Yea, if you can I would return those other shoes. You won't really be able to use them.
