What are some safe colors to order? I was considering blue/gold. Is that acceptable?
As I've said several times before, no one cares about the color of your running shoes. Get shoes that are comfortable and will last through the summer.
Do they no longer require the matching "Plebe Summer Shoe" or a shoe that is primarily white in color?
No. The issued running shoes this year were gray.
And no detailer is going to tell you that you can't wear your shoes because they aren't white.
I know this may seem trivial. I know plebes are issued running shoes during plebe summer...that being said can they bring their own running shoes to use during PT during plebe summer or do they need shoes that are white or grey as of last year. I don't want to get there an get a new pair of shoes issued to me and have to break them in during plebe summer
Bring your own shoes. Highly recommended. I've never used the issued running shoes for running. Once again, color does not matter. As long as the appearance isn't ridiculous, you should be fine. Maybe you'll get some ribbing if you're a male with hot pink or rainbow or glitter-sparkle shoes.
If plebes bring their running shoes on I-day, will they have any problems keeping them to use during the summer? I guess I'm thinking that their personal belongings are taken away for the summer, or is that just their cell phones? Maybe I'm over thinking this.
No, they won't have any problems. It's actually encouraged that you bring shoes. You're correct that everything is taken away in processing. I think the easiest thing to do is just to wear your shoes on I-day. You won't lose track of them that way.
Why do I keep reading that parents should send their Plebe their favorite running shoes in the first care package? Is that how Plebes got their favorite running shoes in the past....and now they just let you up with them on I-Day?
Yes. You're reading outdated information.
That said, shoes, extra toiletries, and athletic gear (for varsity sports) are pretty much the only things they will allow walking in on I-Day.
Nuensis...Great news to have....Thx
