Should I contact early?

Is there an advantage to contacting your ALO early? Just to introduce yourself and get to know him/her.
 
Most certainly. I contacted my ALO in the fall of my sophomore year and have gotten to know him quite well since. Right now I am a candidate for c/o 2017 with a beautifully written evaluation from my ALO. Keep in mind that not all ALOs will work with you until you are ready to apply.
