I'm not the biggest fan of English and deep analysis of writing, but I'm basically eligible for AP English next year. Should I try it? Do admissions look upon that favorably? I'm not exactly sure what the class entails and how I will perform.

It is to my understanding that it would be better to get a B in AP English than an A in honors. Admissions is looking to see that you challenged yourself.

But I know the feeling, I hate analytical writing with a passion. Just put up with it I guess. Its not like honors would be nap time either, so might as well get recognition for your work.

DS was very apprehensive about AP English this year (senior), but is very thankful. Great teacher, and he learned a lot! Go for it, but be willing to put in the extra effort!
