Hello, this is a little bit embarrassing, but I have something called paruresis (shy bladder syndrome) which makes it difficult to pee when under too much pressure. I have no clue why I have it, but sometimes it just doesn't come out...

My question is when taking the DoDMERB Physical for applying to the academies, what happens during the urine sample? are you alone in a bathroom? are there multiple people doing the test with you? does someone have to watch you?

Knowing this will help me prepare myself. Again, I have no clue why it doesn't come out... but sometimes it just doesn't...

The facility where I had my dodmerb exam at had a private bathroom where you would collect a sample. Just drink a lot of water, and if you have to go bad enough nature will have to run its course.

The previous responses are correct. This is NOT a Drug urine, so their is no observation by clinical staff:thumb:

If it is a drug screen type and the subject cannot void what is done?
Thanks

I just did the urine test today. They give you a cup. You go to the bathroom. You come out, they put a stick in it to test for protein, blood, and sugar. No one watches and there's no rush.

Turn on the taps. Think about waterfalls. Drink lots of fluid.

In the Army, we (the officers too) took random drug tests all the time and there was someone standing in the urinal with you. It was uncomfortable, but that is the only way they could ensure that it was your urine. That might be a long term issue for you if they still do drug tests that way.
