My son just received an Army ROTC scholarship and is in the middle of being boarded for the Air Force ROTC scholarship in Feb. He just wants to serve his country and has no specific preference as to the branch. We have 30 days to decide on the Army ROTC scholarship. We're afraid the Air Force results won't be back by then so he can decide between the two. Any advice on this? If he signs and then changes his mind to Air Force, is that even an option?

Congratulations to your son. To preserve his options, he should accept the AROTC scholarship offer within the required 30 day time limit. He can change his mind later and reject the offer if something he prefers over AROTC comes along.

There have been extensive discussions on this board about the strategy and propriety of holding multiple scholarship offers.
