SLE

Does anyone know whether still pending/"Session 4" is a good sign or not? I mean, my thinking is, they're holding on to me because they want me for some reason or another, even if they didn't want me enough to accept me outright. Honestly, I assumed I'd have been ousted in the first round (admittedly, I really don't know what their selection process looks like). So, is this like being waitlisted? And what does that mean in terms of how I look as a candidate (I'll settle for "not quite good enough"--I can improve)?

Honestly, I've seen a lot of these so I'm more worried about my pending session 1 :yllol: But ultimately, just remember that this has no indication whether you're a viable candidate, it's just a recruiting tool! Good luck!

No one has been able to figure out what session four means. I guess we will just have to wait and see

Don't get discourage if you did not get SLE. Last night at a WP briefing in GA, there were eight future cadets for the C/O 2019 in attendance. Only 4 of the 8 attended SLE. SLE is not a determinate. Work on continually maximizing your WCS and get your applications in.

I got rejected from SLE and ultimately got an appointment to WP. I went for an overnight last month and thought it was a much better experience than the Summer Seminar I went to at Air Force. Don't fret about not getting into SLE.

Just got the declination update also but I'm going to keep pushing forward. Look in you portal to see, they don't send you an email.

Just found out that DD was accepted to Session 1 after sitting on a "Pending Session 4" for almost 2 months! Received an email, checked the portal and it is all updated. If you haven't heard yet, go check...you never know what's waiting there for you. Good luck all!

Pending Session 4 since 2/9, not selected, apparently was notified 4/17--just found out tonight.

Few days ago there was a "Deny" message on my portal for SLE. I was Session 4 pending. I don't really mind, going to NASS and USAFA SS. I couldn't justify the lose of training time for my fall sport or the extra cost. Anyway, I was talking to my Liaison a few weeks ago (already having a great experience with her) and she told me my application was considered "admissible." Maybe talk to you liaison to find out your status if you were denied, personally it was reassuring.

It was reassuring that you were denied?

Congrats to those who have been selected into SLE!!

Those who have not been selected, its not the end of the world, attending SLE is not a requirement in the admissions process to be selected. Focus on getting you ACT/SAT as high as possible.

Push Hard, Press Forward

Congrats to those who have been selected. I will be in touch with my RC to see where I stood. I just went for a visit and I am definitely going for it.

Hi, I'm sorry to bother y'all with this off-topic question, but I'm going to do it anyway.

I was accepted to SLE on Friday, April 3rd (got the email and portal update). I sent in the "SLE offer kit forms" last Tuesday, April 14th, but my candidate portal still says they have not received these forms. I'm a little worried these forms could have gotten lost in the mail because my acceptance email said they needed to arrive at West Point by May 1st.

Could somebody tell me whether it takes more than a few days for West Point to process these forms and update my portal? Thank you.

It takes a few days. My DS also emailed copies of all the forms and payment mailed, and the portal was updated immediately.
