I'd love to hear from some "free agents" that went to a prep school! I'm trying very hard to get accepted into the USAFA class of 2018 (I've taken the ACT five times, SAT three) but I'm also preparing my "plan B". If I don't get into c/o 2018 and am not offered a falcon scholarship, I plan to go to a prep school as a free agent. I know it's risky, so I'd love to hear from some free agent preppies! Did you get into the Academy of your choice? Any tips? Thank you so much!

You are talking about getting an appointment to the class of 2018, correct?

I guess by free agent you mean no scholarship.

The prep schools prep you for a first year in college...actually accomplishing a good first year in college will do the same...only real diff (other then the military aspect in some prep schools) is the varsity athlete timing.
