I think I have submitted for the SLS. Could anyone give me advice to how to make sure I have completed the entire process and if so, how to tell if I have received an answer(or possibly when i would get one). For My Candidate Login it says ** This evaluation will not begin until approximately July 1, 2011 at the earliest for most candidates to USMA 2016.**. Meaning please? Thanks

I have a feeling that's for the "actual" application to the c/o 2016. I applied to West Point's SLS (and got rejected :frown:) but the red text never changed, so I think that's what it's referring to.

You should've received a confirmation e-mail or letter, not sure exactly which one they're doing this year (last year it was an e-mail) that said you finished the application and thanking you for opening a candidate file. That portal you are looking at is for the actual application to West Point which you will not be able to complete until this summer.

The notice on your page, as FortX and Casey have said, is geared toward your real application for admission. When you registered with West Point for SLS, they opened up a file on you, with the assumption being that you'll be applying in the Fall for admission. The portal through which you view your status for SLS and general admission are one in the same. It is your candidate portal.

Not sure when you applied for SLS, but some sort of confirmation email should have come saying your SLS package is complete. If you are accepted to SLS it seems you will hear in one to four weeks (based on what I see here and on my son's experience). If you are rejected, based on what I have read on here you may not hear for some time (but I do not know this to be fact). It seems that in regards to SLS, "no news is not good news".

By the way, my son had to call the folks at WP with a question on SLS and they were extremely responsive and happy to assist. So if you are truly concerned you can give them a call.

Hopefully that helps, and keep in mind it is based completely on my personal experience and what I have gleaned from others on these forums. No guarantees of accuracy when it comes to your situation. Good luck.

Yep. You should have received a confirmation e-mail (read: confirmation you applied, not acceptance). I think it took a few hours for mine to show up, so it might take you, I don't know, perhaps 1 day.
