Well our ds has just left with two other midshipmen. They are sharing their through-the-night-driving to be at KP for the 12:00 arrival time for CO's and watch on Sunday. Food for the road, for cookie cafe, a surprise straight-from- the-heart-letter for him to open when he digs through his bags. There never seems to be enough time on these breaks, at least from a parent's POV. He had a great time, is rested and ready to go, which is what counts. It is always hard to say good bye. Especially now, knowing he'll be gone for the rest of the tri and for 8 months at sea. I know I"ll get through it. Maybe an alien ship will take me to LI before he leaves.....
