So I know we all want to get into a SA but...

well...then u seem like ur almost done...i have a whole list of colleges I must do tonight because my parents "think" the other schools are better choices than an SA.

how many schools did u apply to?

One so far , USMA (which I had done by Sept)
this was my list
1. USMA
2. UVA
3. Vanderbilt
4. UNC-Ch
5. Furman
6. Clemson
7. NC State

Im in luck becaues everything is common app but chapel hill (well, clemson and state arent but they have no essay :D)

With LOA + Nom it looks like I will be getting an appt soon, so as I keep telling my parents, I could apply to like chapel hill and state and be done. But noooo it turns into a lecture involving analogies to buying life insurance and disability insurance

Plan G

Here's my daughter's list....waiting to hear unless otherwise noted..

#1 USAFA
#2 Embry Riddle AFROTC
#3 Norwich
#4 Suny
#6 Plymouth State
#7 UNH
# 8 University of Hartford, accepted into Honors program with an academic scholarship:smile:

Isn't funny how she heard first from her last choice? Oh well, at least we know she's got a plan G!! :shake:

Here is son's list:

#1 USCGA -- deferred EA to RA
#2 USNA -- in process
#3 USMMA -- appointment offered
#4 SUNY -- NROTC scholarship
#5 VA tech -- in process
#6 RPI -- in process
#7 Texas A&M Galveston -- accepted
#8 Texas A&M College Station -- accepted

Seems like alot of applications, especially when you add in the three nomination packages and the NROTC application, but I think we've all basically "been there, done that!"

To be honest, it was alot of work on my son's part...it seemed like every day after school or sports or JROTC, he was working on some essay or questionnaire. Now, I think, is the hardest part(at least for me)...the waiting for the two schools that he wants the most. Hopefully, all the effort will be worth it.

Funny, this time last year, we were gearing up to "jump" on the AIM and NASS applications!

We are at the jumping phase and dread the "wait and see" phase. Daughter was accepted to the WP SLS and still waiting to hear from AF SS. It's killing me--and this is only the beginning!

My plan now is to start drinking heavily

Well, my backup plan was to enlist in the Army and apply to USMA the following year, seeing as I heard at the SLS that USMA hasn't been able to fill their spots for enlisted applicants for a while.

However, I just got an appointment yesterday, so it doesn't look like that's what's going to happen.

Here was my list:
USNA - medical DQ
USMA - appointment offered
USAFA - in process
(NROTC backup schools)
Texas A&M - accepted
Arizona State - accepted
Oklahoma University - accepted

#3 UCONN (back-up)
