I received an AROTC scholarship through the first boards (Check one), and was qualified through DoDMERB (check two), whats next? I'm guessing we're going to be getting more paperwork right? I haven't gotten anything from Cadet Command since February.

I think once you send in your acceptance letter then its over until school starts. We may get something in the summer but as far as I know the next step is actually participating...and filling out a bunch of paperwork once you get to your school :thumb:

Here's the way we do it in the Golden Knight Battalion.

June/July we send out initial paperwork (direct deposit, copy of contract to review, other forms).
I schedule a time to take the PT test (you need to pass an APFT to contract).
I travel the state during July giving tests/retests.
Friday before classes start we sign all the paperwork that still needs signing (contract), and we swear you in if you are otherwise qualified. I usually give a PT test that morning, for the last of the "haven't passed the APFT" crowd.

Some schools give the PT test to everyone on that first day/first week. You'll need to check in with your new Battalion to find out exactly how they do it. Some schools even have an orientation that lasts a couple days. For now hang tight just a little longer. Us ROOs are finishing up the school year/scholarship process. Once the semester ends we can shift fire to the incoming class, and I'm sure you'll be hearing from your new unit.

Clarkson is one of your best sources of information on these boards regarding ROTC.

The one thing I would expand on is this. Start training now for the PT Test. Run, Run, and Run somemore. Work on your push ups and sit ups. Make sure you are training with the correct technique. Don't assume that the good PFT you had will get you through. Technique is looked at very carefully and if you don't do them correctly they won't be counted.

Have a great summer and congratulations.
