While every parent of a SA cadet has already made a huge contribution (their son or daughter) we have recently become involved in some programs that could use some help.
In our time as empty nesters we have acquired more pets, considered foreign adoption and alienated some our closest friends and family. Instead we have found a need with groups like operation homefront, adopt a soldier, adopt a US soldier. Even in our community Mary Kay representatives are collecting to send sun care packages to the Troops. Beast taught us the lost art of writing letters. This is another way of putting this simple task to good use. Read about the blanket program for injuried personnel and see if this can't the first project for your new sewing room.
Strangely enough even with our limited participation it has helped our family. Besides, I am not converting a room to a nursery or considering getting a mini moo any more.
